Five-Race Illinois Speedweek Up Next

HYNDMAN, Pa. (May 4, 2026) — Drake Troutman turned a demanding overnight trip into a productive Sunday, earning his first victory of the season at West Virginia Motor Speedway.

After competing in the three-day Dairyland Showdown with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, Troutman and Team 22 Inc. made the 12-hour trek to the 3/8-mile oval in Mineral Wells, West Virginia. The effort proved fruitful, as he delivered a clean sweep—setting fast time, winning his heat race, and leading every lap of the feature.

“First off, we got a really good car. I gotta give a huge shoutout to my boys, we drove 12 hours from Wisconsin last night and I think it just goes to show you how much of a team we got,” Troutman said. “To come here after driving all night long and everyone was up all night. (My team) works their asses off. I’m just happy we could get them one.”

Troutman’s weekend began in Fountain City, Wisconsin, where he competed in three consecutive nights with the World of Outlaws. He opened the weekend with a runner-up finish on Thursday, followed by a sixth-place result on Friday, before capping the tripleheader with a 10th-place finish in Saturday’s $40,000-to-win finale.

Less than 24 hours later and nearly 800 miles away, Troutman arrived at West Virginia Motor Speedway and was fast right out the box. He set fast time in qualifying, won his heat race, and led every lap of the feature to secure his first win of the season and his first career victory with the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series.

He finished 1.628 seconds ahead of runner-up Luke Morey to earn the $10,000 victory.
