Four Top-10 finishes for Troutman during Lucas Dirt week at Ocala Speedway
Drake Troutman and the G.R. Smith Motorsports team unloaded at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway to kick off the longest stretch of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Speedweeks as they joined a field of 36 Super Late Models for the first of five race nights at the facility.
Finishing 10th in the $7,000-to-win opener, Troutman followed that up with a sixth-place run on Wednesday night. For the first points night with the tour, Drake started 12th in the $12,000-to-win feature and wound up inside the Top-10 in 9th. Friday’s event was rained out.
Troutman earned his best run on Saturday evening as he picked up a heat race win and sat on the pole of the $25,000-to-win feature event. Drake battled for the lead duo in the 50-lapper and rounded out the Top-5 in fifth behind Hudson O’Neal, Devin Moran, Tim McCreadie, and Jonathan Davenport.
