Drake Troutman competes in Chili Bowl and Wild West Shootout
Starting off the week in Oklahoma, Drake Troutman was slated to start in Tuesday's preliminary action at the Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Center for the 40th-annual Chili Bowl Nationals.
Charging from eight-to-fifth in his heat race, Troutman then finished ninth in his qualifier and came up just two spots short of making the evening's preliminary feature by finishing sixth in a B-Main. Drake did not return on Saturday.
Focusing his attention back to the 20th-annual Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona Raceway (Case Grande, Ariz.), Drake finished 24th on Wednesday and 23rd on Friday.
The G.R. Smith Motorsports team was able to find more speed in the last two events as Drake landed a Top-5 finish in Saturday's $15,000-to-win feature and then wound up ninth in the 50-lap, $25,000-to-win finale.
