Troutman earns pair of Top-10 finishes at Highland and Maquoketa with Outlaws

Starting off a four-day swing with the national tour, Drake Troutman was one of 31 World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models at Highland (Ill.) Speedway for the $12,000-to-win Beat the Heat 40.

Troutman started off the week with a 10th-place outing before finishing 14th at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.) on Thursday evening.

Friday's opener at Maquekota (Iowa) Speedway was lost to rain showers.

With $20,000 up for grabs in the final night, Drake qualified third-fastest in his group and picked up a heat race win before redrawing the third-starting position. Troutman came away with an eighth-place outing in the 60-lap finale.

Troutman remains sixth in the World of Outlaws point standings.
