Drake Troutman grabs pair of Modified victories during Illinois Speedweek
World of Outlaws Swing Through Ohio and Pennsylvania On Deck
HYNDMAN, Pa. (05/14/25) – Drake Troutman doubled up in the Modified ranks this past week with pair of Illinois Speedweek victories in the Jerry’s Siding Roofing & Doors / CertainTeed / All About Doors No. 5 Elite Chassis Modified.
The 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year made a successful reunion with Jerry Foster’s Modified entry, leading flag-to-flag on Thursday at Lincoln Speedway before scoring a $2,000 win in Saturday’s FALS Spring Shootout at Fairbury Speedway.
“This thing has been badass,” Troutman said in Fairbury Speedway’s victory lane. “I couldn’t ask for anything more. It’s a true blessing to drive for Jerry Foster, they have done a great job with the Elite [Chassis] car. I have to thank Jerry and his entire crew for all their hard work.”
Troutman’s Illinois Speedweek campaign kicked off Tuesday at LaSalle Speedway, where he focused exclusively on Super Late Model competition behind the wheel of the Team 22 Inc. Motorsports entry.
After charging from third to first in his heat race, Troutman earned a front-row starting spot for the $20,000-to-win FloRacing Night in America feature. He showed early speed, pacing the field in the opening laps, but a miscue over the cushion on lap 27 dropped him back to 10th at the checkers.
Pulling double duty on Wednesday at Spoon River Speedway, Drake delivered a strong showing in the Jerry Foster-owned Modified, securing a second-place finish in the feature while also competing in the Late Model division, where he recorded an 18th-place result.
On Thursday at Lincoln Speedway, Troutman came up short in transferring into the $20,000-to-win FloRacing Night in America A-Main but rebounded in dominant fashion in the UMP Modified ranks. Starting from the pole in the 20-lap main event, he led flag-to-flag to capture the $2,000 victory, finishing ahead of Cole Falloway and Tyler Nicely.
After a solid night at Farmer City Raceway on Friday that saw him finish 14th in the Late Model feature and third in the Modified, Drake headed to Fairbury Speedway to conclude the Illinois Speedweek with the FALS Spring Shootout.
His night in the Late Model was cut short after finishing sixth in his consolation, however in his Modified he returned to his winning ways. He paced all 30 laps of the feature to claim his second win of the season and the $2,000 paycheck.
