Troutman spends three-day weeknd with MARS Championship Series in Iowa
Drake Troutman took the Team 22 Inc. crew to Iowa on Thursday afternoon to kick off a three-day weekend with the MARS Late Model Championship Series at Cedar County Raceway (Tipton, Iowa) and 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa).
Finishing 17th in the $5,000-to-win feature on Thursday, Troutman turned his focus to the Slocum 50 opener where he set quicktime among 39 entries and picked up a heat race victory. Starting on the pole of the 40-lap feature, Troutman led the first few laps before smoke billowed from his No. 22 machine and he recorded a DNF.
For Saturday's $10,555-to-win finale, Drake started 13th and recorded 16th-place outing.
