Troutman secures podium finish at Farmer City Raceway with World of Outlaws
Following the tour to the Land of Lincoln, Drake Troutman was one of 42 World of Outlaw Late Model Series entries at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Illini 100 weekend.
Finishing runner-up in his heat race, Troutman started fifth in the $12,000-to-win opener and ran as high as second before he suffered a flat tire on lap 20. Drake rebounded to finish 16th.
With the finale slated for Saturday, Drake picked up a heat race victory and redraw the outside pole for the 60-lap feature. With $20,000 on the line, Troutman led early in the main event before he gave up the lead and settled for a third-place outing. Drake finished on the podium behind Brandon Sheppard and Bobby Pierce while Brian Shirley and Dustin Sorensen completed the Top-5.
Troutman is currently fourth in the World of Outlaw points standings.
