Troutman grabs Top-5 outing with Southern Thunder at Lancaster Motor Speedway
Drake Troutman and the Team 22 Inc. crew followed the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Tennessee Tipoff.
Earning a provisional starting spot for the $12,000-to-win main event, Troutman recorded a 24th-place finish. Saturday's event was canceled due to severe weather.
Drake made the overnight haul to Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway to compete with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series on Saturday evening. Troutman qualified fifth-quickest out of 15 entries and collected a Top-5 finish in the $7,500-to-win main event.
